CERTINI JUST MISS OUT

PZ Wheelers crit no2.

PZ Wheelers hosted their second crit at Portreath at the weekend. 5 Certini riders again controlled the bunch keeping all breakaways under the minute mark on what is famously known as a terrifically difficult circuit with 30 laps. Eventually Rob Willcocks attacked and took James Williams Kona and James Smith Team Certini with him in what turned out to be the winning break.

James S and Rob both attacked Williams but to no avail. Williams eventually attacked leaving only James Smith strong enough to chase down whilst Willcocks sat on his wheel unable to offer assistance after being dropped several times on the hill.

Smith was unable to close the last 15 metres and Willcocks came out from his wheel to steal second.

Keith Lilley and J Flooks came 4th and 5th. This gave Certini an amazing 2,3,4,5 and 7th but no win.
