Dave Clarke takes win but Southam crashes
A fantastically organised race with the cream of British racing including neo pro Dave Clarke and Tom Southam. Ham Hill started at a frenetic pace with Tom S making the first decisive attack on Ham Hill in front of big crowds.
Tom S was marked out and the bunch came back together. This was repeated throughout the afternoon but it looked like a breakaway was going to stay away when James Smith Trigon attacked on the dangerous descent. This was not long after Tom Southam had a gear issue on his bike that meant a nasty fall.
We all wish him well more news to follow.
The breakaway managed a half a lap before being brought back by a super strong peloton. The inevitable bunch sprint was won by Dave Clarke Team lacuna.
Great race.
