Agisko take first blood

The large scratch group did not take long to bring the race back to a standard bunch. In fact it only took a lap and a half bringing into question the choice of size of the scratch group.
A large crash at the bottom of the final hill caused some of the seeded riders to either crash or miss the sprint but this did not effect the overall winner who at this moment remains nameless but rides for Agiskoviner. The rider got away in a two man break and managed to stay away from the chasing group.
A great race in fantastic weather.
Thanks to Ann Owens for the phots

Inspiration!
For anyone looking for a bit of inspiration to get you through them winter training months!
Cory Faulk
Cory Foulk is a classic. Back in 1996 he thought the Ironman might
be getting a tad too serious. So what did he do? He showed up with
a 61 pound Schwinn Typhoon neon yellow cruiser with one gear, coaster
brakes, solid tires, a basket on the front, multi-colored straws on
the spokes and a kickstand.
Plus he did the entire 112 mile Kona bike ride barefoot wearing a
tie dyed Speedo, a Hawaiian shirt and a helmet with flames.
In 2005 the long time ultra endurance athlete had to have his hip resurfaced
through the Smith and Nephew Company and Birmingham Hip resurfacing.
For information go to www.bhrhip.com In the 23 months since,
he has completed the Ultraman Triathlon, Ironman and a triple marathon.
On Sunday, November 25th he finished his 13th Ultraman Triathlon in Hawaii.
Here is a link to a radio show he done recently, its a great listen!

Local midlands cycling team attracts new riders!

Midlands racing team Royal Sutton CC is looking forward to a influx of new riders for the 2008 season. Having struggled for a few years to attract more than the odd handful of riders to ride road based races with the focus mainly being TT`s. Last year saw the arrival of 3 new faces, with a few places on the podium. This year sees another 3 new members who are familiar to the team and will add strengh in depth and hopefully become a force in the midlands region.
